The Joy of Christmas book tag
Welcome to December and the first of my 12 (or maybe more, or possibly less, who knows?) posts for #Blogmas2019
I’m kicking things off with The Joy of Christmas Book Tag. Now Christmas really does bring me lots of joy so this is mightily appropriate what?
Question 1: Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?
Answer 1: I have me four books that I am salivating over and cant wait for them to be available.
Sounds so twisty and clever and mucho thought provoking, who wouldnt want to dive into this?
The Brontes and Isabel Greenberg! I ask you its insane and wonderful and all kinds of magic and give it to me now!!
Hilarious, more connection to my beloved Brontes and its Cynthia Hand (among many) and you cant go wrong with the woman.
A brand new David Levithan? My most favouritest YA author in the whole universe of author? Yes please!
Question 2: Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?
Answer 2: This year i’ve found a new favourite author in Jane Harper. She writes wonderfully atmospheric thrillers set in the very hot, dry outback of Australia. She is such a good writer and i have introduced her to my sister in law who like me has read all of her books and loved her. Check out her books
Question 3: Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?
Answer 3: I’m not a fan of fantasy because of the world building normally, it slows things down and doesnt keep me reading but… I did read and adore all the Harry Potter books and realised much later just how easy her world building is. She keeps the narrative flowing along while you learn all about Hogwarts, wonderful stuff!
Question 4: A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read
Answer 4: Strangely enough its A Christmas Carol and probably one of the few classics i’ve ever read all the way through. I’ve re-read it more than 10 times over the years and adore it. But I am hoping to read The War of the Worlds and The Nutcracker this month too.
Question 5: Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas
Answer: I would love to wake up to a bulging stocking full of books but if i cant have that then I really want Downton Abbey – The Official Film Companion. It looks so lush and full of photos. G’ah Look at it! just give it me now!
Question 6: Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling
Answer 6: Well A Christmas Carol does that to me when i read the last few pages, so too The Christmas Eve chapter of The Dark is Rising and Dash & Lily books by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn.
Question 7: Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?
Answer 7: Ooh now i love me a gorgeous cover, a lot of my books are cover buys and just take a look at these babies
Question 8: Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?
Answer 8: Meeting up with lots of family, playing games, hopefully seeing happy faces when they open their gifts and my hubbys special Christmas Dinner soup for Boxing Day, Delish!!
Well thats Day 1 done, Do you agree with any of my choices? I’d love to see your answers if you decide to do this tag.
